The Wild Geese Society of Czechia seeks to bring together the wider Irish community and friends through open and inclusive events. And so it was with great pleasure that we teamed up with the Czech-Irish Business and Cultural Association (CIBCA) to celebrate the summer solstice with a family friendly BBQ on Thursday 20 June.

The venue was Ladronka park in Prague 6, where our gaggle of wild goslings had ample space to run around. It was a lovely opportunity to get to know geese of all ages, many of whom had not crossed paths before, bringing food to cook and share together.

We were honoured to be joined by Eadaoin O’Connor, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ireland. Very special thanks to Martina, vice-president of CIBCA, for her role in organising the event. Darragh and Louise also helped to bring the event together. And of course to CIBCA president James for his impressive turn as BBQ chef!

So enjoyable an evening was had by all that we plan another BBQ for September – date to be announced! And more events will be co-organised with CIBCA.
